On Todd Seavey’s Mr. Fusion: Ron Paul

In his follow up piece Todd Seavey talks more about the possibilites that Ron Paul has in 2008.

If you scroll down to the comments section of Mr. Seavey’s article you’ll find the erstwhile supporter of Ron Paul, Eric Dondero, who shares with the readers his lack of support for Dr. Paul.

It appears that Eric has learned nothing from his appreance on the Harry Browne show in 2005. On this show Eric poses ideas like being anti-war is “democrat response.” And, “I don’t know where you were at on September 11th 2001…be an American, dude. Don’t be a wimp, dude!” This gem comes from near the end of the second hour at the 31 minute mark of the interview.

The callers asks Dondero, “Why did they attack us?” To which Eric responds, “I don’t care…I don’t know…because they hate our culture, dude.”

“Why did they attack us on Sept. 11th because they hate Hollywood, they hate Madonna, they’re envious of our wealth…they hate everything about American culture. They want to do us in, they want to destroy us…”

My goodness, how vapid do your own arguments have to be before you question them yourself?

And is that a compelling argument for the mass murder of tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of Iraqi citizens? Harry actually asks Eric about the killing of innocent civilians…to which Eric has little to no response.

His arguments seem so shallow and lacking any real consideration, it is hard to understate. His primary premise is that the Iraq war is so successful due the fact that, “The absolute right of the Iraqi people to vote.”

Now, never mind the fact that Dondero in the Winter of 2005 STILL didn’t know that the whole Jessica Lynch story was made up by the DoD. See here, here and here. To which Alex Jones called in to inform him about.

But, rather than listen to my take on the lessons Dondero has yet to learn feel free to stop by and download Harry Browne‘s interview of him here. This is the interview 2nd from the top of the list.

His lack of the basic facts of “the war on terror” and the history of U.S. intervention, while shocking, is not suprising.

Here it is almost two years later and Mr. Dondero seems to still have his head buried in the sand and cannot embrace the terrible realities of what our foreign policy really is all about. He is much like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity who can do nothing but read books that support the position they already hold, if they read books at all. It seems from there lack of the basic facts of many issues like the causes of the American Revolution, the  antebellum period and what led to the Civil War, The War with Mexico, why Reconstruction was such a failure, the Spanish American War, WWI, what led to WWII, the New Deal, the history of the Cold War, Viet Nam, what really happened in the first Gulf War to what is happening now they have done no real study. They are just full of a bunch of RAH! RAH! American Nationalism.

If you have a sincere interest in U.S. foreign policy and who like to know the truth of “why the terrorists hate us” then I would suggest a few books to you. Then you can be more well informed than Limbaugh, Hannity and Glen Beck or any other neo-con who carries water for the government.

The first is Through Our Enemies’ Eyes:
Osama Bin Laden, Radical Islam
& the Future of America

and

Imperial Hubris: Why the West
is Losing the War on Terror

Another fantastic trilogy of
books is written by Chalmers Johnson,
Blowback: The Costs and Consequences
of American Empire
(2000, rev. 2004),

The Sorrows of Empire: Militarism,
Secrecy, and the End of the Republic (2004),
and

Nemesis: The Last Days of the American Republic (2007)

Dr. Thomnas E. Woods’ latest book, 33 Questions About American History You’re Not Supposed to Ask.

Or you can get a copy of Dr. Ron Paul’s book, A Foreign Policy of Freedom and there you read for yourself what Dr. Paul’s view of foreign policy is.

Many mainsteam (fill in the blank)’s strength is circular logic,
historical misinterpretations and outright lies,
and the conflation of facts that
– upon further investigation –
prove not even to be facts.

Think clearly and critically.

Think independently.

  1. Eric Dondero Says:

    Answer me this simple question.

If the Radical Muslims do not hate us for our culture, if it’s all about our foreign policy, than why are they rampaging all across Western Europe?

Why was Theo van Gogh so brutally murdered in the streets of Amsterdam? Was it because those crazy Dutch supported Israel, and had tens of thousands of troops in Saudi Arabia?

Why were all those cars burned last year across Paris by Muslim Youth?

Why did all those Muslims protest in the streets of Copenhagen against the free speech rights of that newspaper that printed that objectionable cartoon.

Here’s a book you should read: While The West Slept – Why Radical Islam is Destroying Western Europe by NY Times Contributing Reporter Bruce Bawer.
