Celebrate that man and the ‘Principles of of 98′

For lovers of Liberty…

I’ll be back with more in just a bit but for now I’d just
like to share with you a bit of wisdom from our fellow
citizen Thomas Jefferson from Virginia.

You may not know this but Jefferson anonymously
wrote the Kentucky Resolutions of 1798. This series
of resolutions enumerated what is a just form of government
and articulates the idea of nullification.

This quote from Jefferson is one of the most often cited
and for good reason.

“Free government is founded in jealousy,
and not in confidence; it is jealousy, and
not confidence, which prescribes limited
constitutions to bind down those whom
we are obliged to trust with power. . .
In questions of power, then, let no more
be said of confidence in man, but bind him
down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.”
Thomas Jefferson (Kentucky Resolutions, 1798)

This is a very good essay by Professor Thomas Woods
to have a more thorough understanding of this
tradition in the USA is really all about.

It’s very good survey that’s well written and is
very approachable.

P.S. In just a bit I’m going to be telling you
more about the tools you need that can
help you survive a violent criminal attack.
