Ultimate Fighter 5

Manny Gamburyan and Nate Diaz were the winners on last night’s show.

These were two great fights.

I see Joe Lauzon didn’t learn the lesson he should have from teammate Matt Wiman. The previous week he said one of the most foolish things a fighter can say…”I’m not gonna lose to him, not to that guy.”

He was clearly insinuating that there was no way he was going to lose to Manny because he is a smaller guy.

As a pro fighter how can you say that? Some clichés are true. You know, ones like, “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight but it’s the size of fight in the dog” (thank you Mr. Twain) and Manny proved again his size doesn’t matter.

And by the way, what was Karo thinking messin’ with Nate? Other than “I beat your brother in a close decision so…I could do it to you too.” I don’t think Karo even won the fight against Nate’s brother Nick so…

But anyway, guys never become one of those people who thinks you deserve some sort of credit just because of your name.

It kind of reminded me of when Mr. Bush proclaimed, “I’m the decider!”

It is just plain nonsense. I think Karo is a very good Judo ka and fighter but how in the world can say…”Does he know who I am?”

As was said by the brilliant general and strategist Zhuge Liang,

“Those who are skilled in combat do not become angered; those who are skilled at winning do not become afraid. Thus the wise win before they fight, while the ignorant fight to win.”
